Competitive Edge, The Kelce Brothers Join Garage Beer Co.

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, renowned figures in the sports world, recently joined Garage Beer Company as part-owners, marking a significant milestone for the brand. Founded from a spin-off of Braxton Brewing Company, Garage Beer Company has emerged with a renewed focus on quality and expansion.

On the latest episode of The Brewery Explorers, Corey Smale, Vice President of Marketing at Garage Beer Company, shared insights into the relationship with the Kelce Brothers and spoke about the way they will work together to bring the once local brew gem to a house hold name across the country.

"We're all still rooted in the Midwest ethos," Corey explained on the 10th episode of the season. "Whether in Ohio, St. Louis, or Kentucky, we maintain a focus on quality while aspiring to expand nationally."

Previously a part of Braxton Brewing, Garage Beer Company became an independent entity about 18 months ago. Corey emphasized their commitment to growth without compromising on the essence of their brand—a commitment to crafting high-quality, refreshing beers.

"Our approach has been to remind people that light beer can be exceptional," Corey continued. "It's about offering something that resonates with our audience—a refreshing drink that complements their lifestyle."

When asked about the recent ownership news involving Travis and Jason Kelce, Corey elaborated on the longstanding relationship that led to this partnership. "Andy Sauer, our CEO, initially connected with Travis about six or seven years ago," Corey explained. "Their rapport grew from there, eventually culminating in this exciting collaboration."

The Kelce brothers' involvement extends beyond ownership. They are actively engaged in overseeing operations, including brewing, distribution, sales, marketing, and expansion. Corey highlighted their enthusiasm and the strategic opportunities their involvement brings. "Having Jason and Travis on board is more than just a celebrity endorsement," he remarked. "It's about their genuine interest in shaping the future of Garage Beer Company."

Reflecting on his past experiences, Corey drew parallels from his tenure at Pabst Brewing Company. "At Pabst, we learned the power of connecting with niche communities," Corey recalled. "That same philosophy applies here—we're celebrating what makes our customers unique."

Regarding the future, Corey expressed optimism about Garage Beer Company's growth trajectory.

"With Jason and Travis's support, we're looking to expand nationally," he said. "Cities like Philadelphia, where we've seen tremendous success, are just the beginning."

As for their products, Garage Beer Company remains committed to their signature offerings. "We'll continue to focus on crafting beer-flavored beer," Corey affirmed. "It's about staying true to our roots while evolving with our customers' preferences."

In conclusion, Corey emphasized the collaborative spirit driving Garage Beer Company forward. "This partnership isn't just about business—it's about passion and community," he concluded. "With Jason and Travis Kelce by our side, the future looks bright for Garage Beer Company."
